Equipment needed for this lemon parmesan asparagus:

  • Cutting board A cutting board is useful to have on hand for cutting off the ends of the asparagus. I also like to use a cutting board any time I chop meat, fruit, veggies and more for the sake of saving my countertops from being scratched.
  • Chef’s knife A chef’s knife is my weapon of choice for chopping those tough ends off of the asparagus. Trim the ends up to the more soft and flexible section of the stalks of asparagus to avoid biting into a tough and woody asparagus end while enjoying dinner.
  • Baking dish A 9 by 13 inch baking dish is needed for the amount of asparagus this recipe produces.
  • Measuring spoons You will need measuring spoons to ensure an accurate measurement of the olive oil, garlic salt, lemon juice and parmesan needed for this asparagus recipe.

Fresh asparagus is one of the first tastes of summer for us because it is the first thing that pops out of the garden each spring. This easy recipe has been my go-to this year with the busyness of blogging and chasing after two very busy toddlers. Even though this asparagus is easy to whip up, we never have leftovers because everyone (yes, even the toddlers) loves it so much!

Storage options for leftover parmesan asparagus:

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and kept refrigerated for several days. This asparagus does lose its crispness over time, so it is best if enjoyed fresh. For freezing leftover asparagus be sure to allow it to cool completely before sealing in an airtight bag or container and freezing for several months.
