Can any types of oranges be used in this green orange ginger smoothie?

Yes, technically you can use store bought or fresh oranges of various types in this smoothie. I used fresh California citrus which are sweeter than most store bought oranges. I also recommend adding more or less honey to fit your taste if you are using store bought oranges which can be more tangy than the sweet, fresh citrus from California.

Step 1: Juice the oranges and then stir in lemon juice.

Can bottled lemon juice be used in this green orange ginger smoothie?

I often go for the lemon juice that sits in a bottle in my refrigerator, as this recipe only requires a small amount. However, freshly squeezed lemon has more nutrients and better flavor so the method is up to you!

Step 2: Add all the ingredients to a large blender.

What if I don’t like ginger, can I adjust the amount?

Ginger can also be added to taste. If you do not like a strong ginger flavor you can add a little at a time, blend the green orange smoothie up and taste once blended, adjusting as needed.

Step 3: Blend until smooth, then pour into glasses of choice and enjoy!!

How can I get rid of small chunks and seeds in this smoothie?

If you wish to get this smoothie to smooth perfection, you can blend it and then put it through a sieve or strainer. If you do not have a strainer on hand, a fine mesh cloth over a bowl or pitcher will work as well.

Storage options for this green orange ginger smoothie:

This green orange ginger smoothie is best when fresh, but can also be refrigerated for a day or two. If using the smoothie after it has been refrigerated. you may wish to stir the smoothie as some separation of the yogurt and fruit can occur. I have not tried freezing this green orange ginger smoothie, but imagine it could be done as well. Once again you may need to stir the smoothie or even re-blend it in the blender once thawed.
